CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Karachi International Container Terminal is looking for a forward thinking and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer, to be based in Karachi.The candidate should be able to:
♣ Provide overall leadership and direction to finance department.
♣ Keep abreast of latest updates in accounting standards and actively engaged in deployment of regional initiatives pertaining to finance, accounting, policies and standards locally ensuring compliance.
♣ Actively participate in the strategic business planning process and provide financial guidance and advice to the management team consistent with the company financial policy.
♣ Understand issues and address business trends, changes and opportunities in the market that may affect the company, its business and its clients.
♣ Contribute effectively in strategic business planning and development which include tax planning.
♣ Prepare consolidated accounts for statutory and management reporting purposes.
♣ Perform budgeting and periodic rolling forecasts.
♣ Manage treasury, legal and procurement functions.
♣ Ensure timely reporting to the regional office.
♣ Liaise with auditors, bankers, lawyers, and relevant authorities when necessary.
♣ Carry out special projects from time to times as directed by the CEO.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
♣ Monitor organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s business plans.
♣ Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the region/CEO and make recommendations on strategy and operations.
♣ Oversee financial and budget planning, monitor budget results, review financial statements and advise region/CEO on status, results and suggest on required changes.
♣ Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluated the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
♣ Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
♣ Develop effective succession plan within the department.
The candidate should have:
♣ A professional degree in Accountancy, CA/ACCA or CPA.
♣ At least 10 years of post qualification experience in a senior financial position with extensive administrative experience in a large scale organization. Experience with port & shipping industry would be an advantage.
♣ Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision.
♣ Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
♣ Computer literate having knowledge and experience with various relevant IT systems.
♣ To be within the age bracket of 40 years.
