URGENTLY REQUIRED- IT Head (Karachi Based)

A Multinational Pharmaceutical Company urgently requires Head of IT responsible for managing over all IT functions including organization technologies and providing technology support and training. Primary duties include: analyzing systems and processes; maintaining communication networks; and designing, developing and maintaining Web-based applications and as well as strategic planning to meet the business/organizational objectives in the most cost-effective manner

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & JOB RESPONSIBILITES
· Maintains a thorough knowledge of the organization and adheres to all organizational standards.
· Keeps immediate supervisor well-informed of activities and recommends corrective actions.
· Designing, Analyzing and Development of in house Systems/Application as assigned by the management from time to time Define and set IT strategy and standards in terms of system development methodology i.e. front end and backend tools and operating platform Manages the acquisition, installation and maintenance of the organization’s local area network hardware/software.
· Manages network operations to include: troubleshooting connectivity problems; installing & maintaining routers; adding/terminating users; assigning rights and access; resetting passwords; establishing e-mail addresses; assessing and reporting operational status; performing backups and restores; etc. Ensures technology documents, maintenance agreements, service contracts, etc. related to technology operations and/or technology services are evaluated, updated and processed. Implements, administrates and maintains databases. Designs, develops and maintains web-based applications including websites and intranets. Continuously improves the organization' s Web site and Intranet; adds new functionality and improves user ability to maintain without technical support.
· Provides technical supervision of technology interns; supervises other staff as directed; annually updates technology job descriptions; completes technology staff evaluations.
· Ensure routine preventive maintenance on hardware and software.
· Assists staff in understanding and using technology; conducts regular staff technology presentations and trainings.
· Presents and implements technological alternatives to streamline functions and improve productivity.
· Develops and maintains technology policies, standards and procedures manual; develops and maintains related technology checklists.
· Ensures compliance with all software licensing agreements. Manages and safeguards software media and associated licenses.
· Develops annual technology goals and detailed plans for goal accomplishment.
· Ensures networks, workstations, operating systems and software applications are operational; ensures hardware and software is patched and/or updated; ensures all analog and broadband circuits are operational in accordance with vendor specifications.
· Ensures for the availability, continuity and security of data and information pertaining to the organization.
· Prepares, maintains and tests a technology disaster recovery plan.
· Maintains knowledge on current technology by reading technology periodicals, evaluating new technologies and attending trade-shows, technical seminars and training sessions.
· Develops and manages technology budget and monitors and approves related expenditures. Reviews and approves cost pool expenditures.
· Updating management on the assigned tasks on regular basis by way of holding a meeting. Negotiate contracts and supplier services with vendors, ensuring equipment acquisition and installation continually keep up-to-date of the latest IT research and development activities to enhance the future efficiency of the organization.
· Communicate and work effectively with other departments/ functions in the organization.
· Ensure the integrity of the database.
· Generate reports as requested by management staff.
· Act as primary liaison with computer database/ERP consultant and computer service personnel (hardware service provider). Ensure timely response to programming and maintenance requests. Conduct testing to ensure reliability of ongoing projects like CRM and its database modifications prior to installation on the network Provide technical assistance and training to all staff on computer systems.
· Attend continuing education sessions to increase and maintain up-to-date knowledge of computer applications.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by CEO or BOD(s)
