ur Client M/S Laraib Energy Limited (LEL) is a subsidiary of HUBCO.
LEL is currently launching Pakistan’s first independent Hydro Power
generation project of 87MW in Mirpur. Azad Jammu and Kashmir under
Public Private Partnership with Government of AJK. The construction
phase of the project is to commence from June 2009 under an Engineer,
Procure and Construct (EPC) agreement. The financiers of the project

LEL is looking for an Environmental, Social, Occupational, Health
Safety (ESOHS) Manager in Islamabad. ToRs and qualifications for the
position is as below:

Job Descriptions: -
•Assist the Project Manager of Laraib Energy Limited (LEL) in
fulfilling company’s Environmental, Social, Occupational Health and
Safety (ESOHS) responsibilities and keep him/her updated on ESOHS
matters relating to the construction.
•Supervise and liaison with (Engineering Procure and construct (EPC)
Contractor for implementation of Environmental Management Plan ( EMP)
and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)
•Ensure compliance of company operations with all relevant environmental
laws.
•Monitor ESOHS specialist firm/ consultants in the implementation of
ESHOS commitments of LEL.
•Conduct periodic field visits to the project site.
•Review ESOHS reports and ensure implementation of corrective measures, if
any.
•Coordinate with government departments, financial institutions and
other relevant stakeholder’s vis-à-vis ESOHS issues.
•Promote Environmental, Health & Safety awareness to LEL employees at
all levels
•Implement Environmental, Health & Safety system according to ISO
standard requirements.
•Plan, activities audit and budget for Environmental, Health & Safety
system. Regularly perform the audit according to Environmental, Health
& Safety aspects.
•Prepare ESHOS reports for Government Offices and financiers
according to their requirement.
•Conduct investigation in case of Environmental, Health & Safety
accidents and/or incidents occurring at the project site.
•Support and suggest the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
for all employees
•Any other task assigned by the Management of the company.
Qualifications: -
•Masters Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environment or related
fields
•At least 5 years experience in Safety and Environment
•Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, ISO/TS 16949
•Proactive, high leadership with presentation and problem solving skills
•At least 5 years experience with work rules and regulation by law.
•Good command of English and computer literacy
•Able to work independently
