Senior Business Analyst - Karachi

Job Description:

The Business Analyst is expected to carry out business process re engineering and implementation related work including business case development, business requirements analysis, analyzing current processes, developing detailed to-be processes, documenting improvement and functional requirement specs, documenting business processes and procedures, managing change requests throughout implementation cycle, quality assurance and supporting user acceptance testing.

The successful candidate should have cross-functional experience of passing through a top-tier ERP implementation, in a Manufacturing and Supply Chain environment. He must also have good knowledge of Application change and delivery process, and, the ability to translate user requirements into system solutions by acting as a catalyst between the business users and Implementers.

* Translation of business needs: Work with project stakeholders to translate their requirements into system specifications.
* Business Process Improvement: Proactively considers and recommends business process improvement and re-engineering(BPR).
* Translation of technical issues: Explain technical/architectural complexities and limitations to project stakeholders.
* Modeling and documentation: Work with project stakeholders to identify, model, and then document their requirements.
* Mentoring: Help the project team navigate through contentious and conflicting issues arising between the stakeholders and the Implementers.
* Testing and validation: Work with project stakeholders to validate their requirements and analysis models via techniques such as piloting, reviews, walk through’s, and play acting. Supports in documenting user acceptance tests (UAT).
* Representing stakeholders: Act as a go-between stakeholders, IT and Implementers.
* Communication: Play the role of key communicator between business functions, IT and Implementers.
* 1. Proven track record as business analyst performing requirements definition with excellent attention to detail, functional design, preparation of test scripts, testing and implementation
2. Excellent analytical and process-based skills, i.e. process flow diagrams, process modeling
3. Develop subject matter expertise on business processes and technologies in use
4. Successfully manage change into an operational environment; test throughout lifecycle
5. Strong communication & interpersonal skills
6. Ability to change format, content and presentation of communication and reporting depending on audience
7. Effectively participate in decision-making that affects business model and project scope
8. Escalate project risks and issues in a timely fashion to program manager and, where possible, identify appropriate mitigation plans
9. Plan and prioritize own workload efficiently & effectively

Experience

1. Preferably a Degree in Business Administration or a Professional Qualification in Finance and Accounting otherwise substantial business-side experience
2. A minimum of 2 years structured business process re engineering and improvement project based implementation experience
3. An understanding of Oracle E-business Suite, UML concepts (mainly use cases) and flow charting / diagramming softwares
4. A working knowledge of JIT, Flow Manufacturing and Kanban is highly desirable
5. Organized and attentive to detail
6. Numerate with strong analytical ability
7. Practical problem solving ability.
